I can’t stand to see that video being shown everywhere–the pain of it all, the horror that something like that could happen.

I watched that video, and what struck me was how someone in the background kept saying, “He speaks Russian,” or “he doesn’t speak English.” You’d have thought that somehow we could have bridged the communication gap there. The whole thing was awful, just heartbreaking, on so many levels.

I’m keeping you in my thoughts, as well.

Justice, we can hope, is somtimes possible, and I do really hope this is one of those situations. That perhaps society can grow and change because of this.

The first time I heard the story I cried out to myself “How can’t they help him?” We live in one of the most varied countries-Vancouver especially-no one wanted to help in 10 hours? That’s what bothers me the most, aside from the obvious-that no staff member could be bothered to try and assist aside from calling security.

10 hours. The look on that poor man’s face will haunt me, along with the horror his mother must feel at seeing it everywhere.

I thought we were better than this, Canada. I guess I was wrong.
