coo, coo. That’s all.
January 8th, 2008 at 2:51 am
That was too cute. I love your hat too.

At first I thought I heard Gord Downie’s voice playing in the rink and then realised that it was Live’s Thunder Crashes. I therefore award you 9/10 Canucky points. Good show.
Ahem. And you’re all too damn cute for words.

I think it’s awesome, too. (Good gravy not even 2 and on skates, LOL. I love it!)

cutest baby Canadian on skates ever!!
January 8th, 2008 at 3:40 am
Why is Spirit of the West playing in my head? (I am far, too Canadian…)
Good on you! We rediscovered the bob skates in the basement last weekend. It’s time to get the toddler out on the ice. Gulp.

That is too cute. I love the face mask. And I love the fact that you can stay up on your skates while wrangling him on his. That is no small feat.

I see a new NHL star in the making
January 8th, 2008 at 3:51 am
Oh my goodness, he is ADORABLE! And speaking of adorable - you are too! What a fun trip to the skating rink!
January 8th, 2008 at 4:05 am
Wow, that’s awesome.
Our equivalent, I suppose, will be our son’s first surfing trip. But I don’t think that will be for a while - not until I brush up on my own skillz
January 8th, 2008 at 4:31 am
Ok I am cooing myself sideways over here
January 8th, 2008 at 4:37 am
I don’t know which is cuter…the kid or your hat.
Wink, wink.
You and O and Dave are welcome to glide on my pond anytime, chicky.
January 8th, 2008 at 5:55 am
OMG, he’s so so cute, someday you’ll be watching this after a day of seeing him skate really really fast, and you will never believe the difference.
January 8th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Skate today, hockey tomorrow, right? Go, O!
January 8th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Outstanding! I used to take Fiona to skating and sit shivering on the benches (it’s impossible to find rinks around here, especially ones that offer family time). He’s having so much fun.
January 8th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
that was freaking adorable and made me remember aiden’s first skate ~ it was at an outdoor rink and in a very uncanadian move, he immediately wanted his skates off so he could go play in the hill of snow beside the rink, sigh …

LONG LIVE HOSERS!
I love it, Bon. I love the little squeal at the beginning…goddamn, he is CUTE!! And you? Holy crap. You are beautiful!
January 8th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Echoing all sentiments above, I’m also having a hard time deciding if you or Oscar is cuter.
Where’d you find the skates? I want to force hubby to take Isaac this winter (no skating for me I don’t think although the hilarity of a pregnant woman on ice would probably sell tickets) and as unCanadian as it is I don’t even know where to start looking.
January 8th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Cooooo. He is a cutie.
January 8th, 2008 at 11:24 pm
Aah! Just precious, both of you.
January 8th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
He is so, so cute and I adore YOUR sweet happy voice, (hoser-speak and all, LOL)taking your boy skating for the very first time. These are sweet moments. XO

So awesome! I need that helmet for Ella to wear around the house
January 9th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
I was actually just wondering how young you can get them into skates. Now I know.
January 9th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
they are, i should note, only bobskates…little double-bladed things that strap onto his boots. and they’re really quite terrible for skating on, but they allow us to introduce him to the process, to have this kinda fun.
his Grandmaman bought them for Christmas. they were only, like, nine bucks…so really i think they’ll be worth the investment even if we only go a few times. he loved it, so maybe we’ll go more?
good for him to see his parents move their lazy butts.
January 9th, 2008 at 5:41 pm
where did you get those skate thingy mabobs for Oscar??
January 9th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
You can skate backward while holding a toddler?! I am so impressed. Wow, you really are Canadian.
And I love your hat.
January 10th, 2008 at 4:40 am
oh so cute!
January 10th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
that’s awesome, eh!
January 11th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

I have taken my son Ryan (30 mos) for his first skate recently. We have gone twice now. The funny part is that he hated the ice but he kept saying “I go skating!” Here in vancouver we can rent skates at the community centres. My sister a figures skating coach (down in Dallas Tx now)recommended we start him on girls skates and get him to march. Ryan did do better with the picks than the hockey style skate. She also said to switch to hockey skates once he is used to the idea of skating. She also encouraged me to continue eventhough he mostly likes walking around (off the ice). Happy new year!
January 14th, 2008 at 11:11 am
Shit, I can’t believe they make skates that small!! That’s awesome.
January 21st, 2008 at 12:48 am
I agree.
Awesome.
