i birthed andy warhol
Posted by bon under mama-baby stuff
every great artist finds his medium and muse in the everyday, the mundane of what is constant in his world.

ze artist considers. bah. zat ees not pretty!

ze artist repositions. stop your patronizing smiling at me, woman! i am ze artist!
ze artist causes mummy’s delicate eye skin irreparable damage.
i can’t wait ’til fingerpainting starts.

Do you seriously just hang about your house in funky hats like that pink one? It is awesome, and so are you and so is your Andy Warhol!

my ovaries are screaming.
February 11th, 2008 at 3:28 am

In the third photo down he looks like he;s giving you some kind of consultation. “Mmm-hmmm, yes.. I see.. mmm-hmmm…”

Who needs lovely eye skin anyway, as I always say. We must make sacrifices for art.

Are you sure it’s art and not some sort of new-fangled facial? Watch out for glitter glue as well, that could get, um, interesting.
February 11th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
So cute. I’m sure the removal of the adhesive had some sort of pore cleansing benefits.
February 11th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
But you look mahvelous, my dear.
Letter art, somehow, is very appropriate for you, no?
February 11th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Ha! You’re a good sport.
If he seems interested, you could always tape a piece of paper to his high chair tray and give him some vanilla pudding to “paint” with. He’s about old enough to use big fat baby crayons, too.

yeh, he’s cuter than Andy. i think i should get him some little funky glasses, though.
and i apologize sincerely for the view of my lovely nose hairs in the last photo. the things we do - and publicize - for art, indeed.

So cute. You should be flattered that he puts the stickers on you - Isaac loves to decorate himself, but never others.
And Friday’s post, which I’m only just catching up on? So beautiful. Thank you for sharing those moments with us. And I hope your wee artist is feeling better.

It looks like an alphabet facial.
We got fingerpaints out on the weekend for the first time. Apparently she hates getting her hands messy. Bah! Girls.

Terrific pictures. I love the rapt concentration on his face. He wants you to be truly beautiful.
February 11th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Heehee Awesome! I can’t wait until finger painting either….
February 11th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
This is too cute.
And yes, he is much cuter and saner than Warhol was. Though, I am sure just as talented.

What eats me up in this series, aside from his cute baby-hands, is his serious, studious expression! OMG he is so into making Mama-art :). Lovely, Bon. Such a cutie. He must be feeling better…

February 13th, 2008 at 6:04 am
He’s just so intent upon getting your face to be exactly the way he wants it. I love pictures like this.

How I love the mommy-as-canvas thing! Great shots, love the concentration on his darling face.
