Congrats on your daughter. She's adorable. I had to laugh when I read your post because your son looks like such a tiny boy to me. I have three sons and the oldest is 20. He's 6' 3" and he towers over me. He's in college and he can fix cars and computers. He's very useful to have around, as are his brothers. Still, I miss cuddling with babies. I used to wish they were older so I could get a good night's sleep but the time goes by so fast...
Enjoy both your babies.

So many things. I am still drooling over the Ergo carrier, and am sorry that I bought a new Bjorn when the Little Guy was, um little. Love the Phil and Teds during the winter months (newborn position with carrying coccoon indispensible). Now that the Boy is older, I would love the Joovy Caboose, though. My Skip Hop Pronto diaper changer is the best. As is my (now lost at a Denny's) Munchkin Baby on the Go bag.

I agree with the lots and lots of wine thing. Absolutely.

I have a different suggestion that I notice no one mentioned. I have a set of twin boys and to this day Desitin Creamy diaper rash cream has saved their little behinds more than once. If you even see a slight redness, just spackle the little one's butt with this stuff and it works magic. I love it. And you can get the big tubes of it in the aisle with the shampoo/conditioner. Also remember to check that section for the big bottles of baby wash, etc.

I'm weighing in with the Moby and the mei tei also. I have a BabyHawk and love it.

We also love our Bumbo chair.

The Britax Boulevard CS is to die for as well.

Oh gosh I wish I could give you my Amby Baby bed. Loved it and have no use for it any longer... sniff...sniff...

I would have to agree also with sleep sacks. Just zip her in and you'll know she is warm and cozy all night long (or until she wakes you up again).

That baby girl is so beautiful and I can't tell you what joy it gives me to know she is with you filling up your home with all her sweetness and light.

Oh, my word, all the luvverly stuff that seems to have popped onto the market since my third was born, just four short years ago!! I have naught to add to the list of "stuff" (although, the double stroller and the baby bjorn were two of my saving graces), except perhaps a microwave sterilizer, from AVENT... You won't believe the stuff you wind up having to sterilize, even if you're breast feeding...

Might I humbly suggest that you ask your guests to bring food items for your freezer? I had a freezer-stocking shower for a good friend of mine a few years back, and it turned out to be a God-send... Everyone made a casserole, or some lovely baking, and then taped a copy of the recipe to the top of the item. She had meals to feed her family for nearly a month!!

Another idea?

TIME.

Perhaps your friends might volunteer an hour or two with your children, so that you could catch a few much-needed (and deserved) zzzz's. We have a group here called "Sleepy Mommies", where another mother will come and watch your children while you rest. It is the BEST idea EVER. And NOT just for mothers of newborns (although, no doubt, new mothers need it the most!)

I wish I could give you some of my time, and something really delicious to warm your tummy... But you'll have to settle for all my love and good wishes, instead.

Posy is so beautiful... And most DEFINITELY advanced for her age! Congratulations!!

xoxo CGF
